Bryant gets stiches near right eye

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant received four stitches near his right eye after a collision with Dwyane Wade.

Bryant went for steal on the league's leading scorer during the final seconds of a one-possession game and ended up with the injury when the star-studded pair banged heads.

At the moment of impact, Wade lost control of his dribble, allowing the ball to roll out to a wide-open Chris Quinn, who missed the potential go-ahead 3-pointer with 6.6 ticks left. The Lakers would go on to ice the game from the free-throw line.

Bryant had averaged 27.2 points entering Sunday's play, good for the third-best mark in the lead behind his Olympic teammates Wade (29.1) and LeBron James (27.7).
