Mo Williams scored 29 points and LeBron James posted a triple-double as the Cavaliers downed the Heat 99-89.
James finished with 14 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in a game that featured the top two scorers in the NBA; James is at 28.3 points per game and Dwyane Wade leads at 29.5.
The Heat were within 91-85 when Wade drove toward the hoop in the final minute. He missed the layup while colliding with Anderson Varejao. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra was hit with a technical and Wade picked up his second technical of the game on the play for jawing at the ref about the non-call. He left with 25 points on 9-of-23 from the floor and 12 assists.
Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry combined for 67 points as the Dallas Mavericks ran away with a 119-103 victory, moving to 3 1/2 games ahead of the Phoenix Suns for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Terry finished with 33 points on 11-of-20 shooting, including 5-of-10 from the arc. Nowitzki led all players with 34 points and added nine boards, seven assists, two blocks and two steals.
The Atlanta Hawks held off the Detroit Pistons to sweep the season series with an 87-83 victory. Josh Smith finished with 19 points, 12 boards and four blocks, while Al Horford added 18 and 12 for Atlanta. Hamilton led the Pistons with 20 and Rodney Stuckey chipped in 19.
Gerald Wallace collected 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Charlotte Bobcats extended their winning streak to a franchise-record sixth straight game with a 114-105 win over the New York Knicks. Boris Diaw added 22 points and Raymond Felton recorded 19 points and 10 assists for the Bobcats, who are making a push toward the playoffs. Al Harrington scored 24 points for the Knicks.
The Memphis Grizzlies hung tough but the Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a 110-105 victory to keep their playoff chances strong.
Philadelphia had six players reaching double figures. Andre Iguodala led the way with 24 points, while Louis Miller fell just short of a triple-double, collecting 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 31 points and rookie center Marc Gasol added 30 and 13 boards.
Chris Paul collected 21 points, 13 assists and six steals to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 108-90 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rasual Butler and Julian Wright added 20 points apiece and David West chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Hornets. Brandon Roy scored 31 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 95-93 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Richard Jefferson scored a season-high 35 points as the Milwaukee Bucks staved off the Golden State Warriors 127-120. The Bucks built a 15-point lead and watched it dissolve only to assert themselves again down the stretch and send Golden State to its third straight defeat on this swing.
The Indiana Pacers scored the last six points of the game as part of a 12-2 run that rocked the LA Clippers 106-105.
