LeBron James was again in supreme form for the Cavs while fellow MVP-fave Kobe Bryant helped Lakers to a win over the Warriors.

He recorded a 24th career triple-double to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 97-92 OT win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

James scored 26 points, including six in overtime, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to hand the Cavs their seventh straight win that sees them in a strong position to take the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

Brandon Roy top scored for the Trail Blazers with 24 points.

Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol had 21 points each as the Los Angeles Lakers overcame the Golden State Warriors 114-106 at Staples Centre.

The defending Western Conference champions were looking to bounce back from a 94-93 defeat to Philadelphia on Tuesday night and they gave themselves the ideal boost as they prepare for a seven game road trip - their longest of the season.

Warriors leading scorer Stephen Jackson returned to the side to score 10 points and shoot 5-for-17 while Monta Ellis scored 27 points.

Finally, Joe Johnson had 24 points while Flip Murray poured in 19 as the Atlanta Hawks picked up their seventh straight victory with a 95-87 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Dallas, who have now lost three out of four games to drop behind the seventh-placed Utah Jazz in the Western Conference.

The Hawks, meanwhile, moved four games ahead of fifth-placed Miami in the Eastern Conference standings.
