Kobe Bryant had 30 points as the LA Lakers secured their fourth straight victory by defeating the Detroit Pistons 92-77.

The Lakers took control with 20 points in the third period after Detroit had led the second quarter 42-39.

Will Bynum had a career high 25 points and 11 assists but could not prevent Detroit from slipping to their first defeat at home to the Lakers since 2002.

John Salmons scored 27 points as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Miami Heat 106-87.

Salmons scored 13 points in the third quarter to move the Bulls ahead of the Heat and ensure his side climbed into seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Dwayne Wade had 31 points for the Heat.

A season-high 29 points for LaMarcus Aldridge helped the Portland Trail Blazers bring an end to the Phoenix Suns' six-game winning run with a 129-109 victory.

Aldridge added 12 rebounds while Brandon Roy had 26 points and nine rebounds for Portland.
