Houston Rockets 99-87 LA Lakers
Aaron Brooks and Shane Battier were on form to lead Houston Rockets to victory over LA Lakers in Texas on Sunday.
Brooks weighed in with 34 points and Battier 23 in Game Four of the Western Conference semi-finals series, while Pau Gasol top scored for the Lakers with 30 and Kobe Bryant added 15.The Rockets made a great start by finishing the first quarter 29-16, and they then edged the next two by 25-20 and 29-18.
It was a different story in the final quarter as the Lakers mounted a late comeback to reduce the deficit but it was too little too late and Houston held out for the win.
The Texan side's play-off hopes were earlier hit by the news centre Yao Ming will miss the rest of the post-season with a fractured foot, but their convinving performance levelled the series 2-2.
