The rumour mill is rife with speculation that Minnesota might trade up for Washington’s fifth overall pick.

The Timberwolves already have the sixth, 18^th and 28^th picks, but are interested in packaging picks and players to move up and draft Hasheem Thabeet or Ricky Rubio.

Minnesota have also been linked with trading for the Memphis' second overall pick, but they might need a couple of lottery picks packaged together to land the elusive slot.

Washington have been actively shopping their fifth overall pick, and Minnesota could offer the expiring contracts of Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and Mark Madsen (along with a mixture of draft picks as sweeteners) to obtain youth and talent via the draft.
