Toronto Raptors burnt by Suns

Hedo Turkoglu missed a last-gasp 20-foot shot as the Toronto Raptors fell 101-100 against the Phoenix Suns.

Turkoglu had put Toronto on top, 100-98, with a long-range effort with 52 seconds left, but Steve Nash was fouled while scoring a lay-up and made the extra point to put Phoenix on top.

Amare Stoudemire had 30 points and eight rebounds for the Suns, while Nash added 23 points and nine assists.

Chris Bosh led the Raptors with 25 points.

Aaron Brooks scored a career-high 33 points as the Houston Rockets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 101-91.

It was a second consecutive loss for the Lakers following their 105-79 defeat to Denver on Friday.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points, including nine in the final six minutes, to help the Dallas Mavericks to a 95-90 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Ben Gordon entered the game averaging 29 points for the Pistons but managed only five on 1-of-16 shooting.

Chris Kaman scored 25 points and Baron Davis added 24 to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 101-93 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
