Hawks soar to sixth straight

The Atlanta Hawks won their sixth game in a row, 105-90 against the Miami Heat, on the back of 30 points from Joe Johnson.

The Eastern Conference-leading Hawks were comfortable after a 28-8 run at the end of the first half, helped by 16 points and 14 rebounds from Josh Smith.

Johnson's performance followed a 35-point outing against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.

Another six-game winning streak was halted, though, as the Cleveland Cavaliers fell 108-91 to the Washington Wizards.

Antawn Jamison was the star for the Wizards, scoring 31 points and grabbing 10 rebounds on a season debut delayed by a shoulder injury.

The Boston Celtics ended a mini-slump, winning their first match in three with a 109-95 win over the Golden State Warriors, while Portland beat the Detroit Pistons 87-81.

Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 41 points in the Dallas Mavericks' 99-94 overtime victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Rashard Lewis, who was banned for the first 10 games of the season, had 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Orlando Magic beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 108-94.

The Philadelphia 76ers came from behind to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 86-84.

Andre Iguodala scored 25 points but it was Lou Williams, who had 19, who won the game with a lay-up with just 3.1 seconds remaining.

Rudy Gay scored 21 points, all in the second half, and Zach Randolph also had 21 as the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Los Angeles Clippers 106-91, while the Utah Jazz beat the Toronto Raptors 104-91.

The New York Knicks got their first win in seven, 110-103 against the Indiana Pacers, and the Minnesota Timberwolves lost their 11th straight, falling 97-84 to the Houston Rockets.

Minnesota are not the worst side in the NBA though - the New Jersey Nets have lost all 12 games this season after a 99-85 defeat at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks.
