Amare Stoudemire led the way with 23 points, helping the Suns turn around a game they were losing 34-22 after a slow start.

Phoenix are the only team in the NBA to have scored at least 100 points in every game this season.

It was the 100th 40-point game of Bryant's career and it helped the Lakers avoid a third consecutive defeat.

Jeff Bower claimed his first win as a coach as the New Orleans Hornets beat the Los Angeles Clippers 110-102.

David West had 24 points and 10 rebounds to ensure Bower, who took over coaching duties when Byron Scott was dismissed on Thursday, got a W on the board.

The Oklahoma City Thunder's good start to the season continued as they beat the Miami Heat 100-87 with the help of 32 points from Kevin Durant.

The New Jersey Nets remained winless as the Indiana Pacers claimed a 91-83 victory.
