Atlanta Hawks extend home streak

The Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks maintained their perfect home record with a 105-103 win over the Houston Rockets.

But they needed a last-gasp Josh Smith dunk to do it.

It was 103-103 after Carl Landry's free throws five seconds from time, when Mike Bibby's effort hit the rim, bouncing up for Smith to convert.

The moment overshadowed Marvin Williams' season-best 29 points, which helped Atlanta, the NBA's best team, to their seventh consecutive win.

The Orlando Magic beat the Boston Celtics 83-78 in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference semi-final.

The win, Orlando's fourth in a row, was built on Vince Carter's 26 points as well as 16 points and 10 rebounds from Rashard Lewis.

The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Charlotte Bobcats to maintain their good start in the Eastern Conference.

Brandon Jennings led the way with 29 points against a Charlotte side who have now lost seven in a row.

The Dallas Mavericks overcame a 47-42 half-time deficit to beat the Sacramento Kings 104-102.

Half of Dallas' points came from the bench.

LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers, who were once again without centre Shaquille O'Neal, to victory with 40 points in their 105-95 win over the Indian Pacers.

It was a season-best haul for James, who also grabbed nine rebounds.

The Memphis Grizzlies earned their first road victory of the season, beating the Philadelphia 76ers 102-97.

Rudy Gay led the way with 33 points, while Zach Randolph added 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Kevin Durant scored 35 points in Oklahoma City's 127-108 win over the Washington Wizards, the most prolific night of the Thunder's season.

The Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 120-113 for their first win in four,

Monta Ellis' season-high 34 points led the Golden State Warriors to a 108-94 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, while Carmelo Anthony had 37 but still ended up on the losing side as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Denver Nuggets 106-99.
