NBA: Lakers take down Toronto
The Los Angeles Lakers made it eight wins from nine meetings with Kobe Bryant hitting a baseline jumper with 4.2 seconds left to wrap up a 94-92 win.
The Raptors had trailed by as many as 18 points but were undone when Bryant completed his haul of 27 points by shooting over the outstretched arms of James Johnson.
The Boston Celtics won 95-91 over a Chicago Bulls side without star guard Derrick Rose as Rajon Rondo recorded a triple-double with 32 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds.
Kevin Garnett added 13 points and 12 rebounds, reserve JaJuan Johnson had 12 points and Ray Allen 11 for the Celtics, who snapped a two-game skid.
Rose's spot went to CJ Watson who scored 22 points, matched by Carlos Boozer who also had seven rebounds.
The Washington Wizards thrashed the Detroit Pistons 98-77 as JaVale McGee had 22 points and eight rebounds, and John Wall added 14 assists.
Nick Young had 22 points for the Wizards and Greg Monroe had a game-high 27 for Detroit.
The Miami Heat made their point against second-placed Southeast Division outfit the Atlanta Hawks with a 107-87 score.
LeBron James scored 23 points and Dwyane Wade added 21. Chris Bosh also contributed a double-double by half-time as Miami won for the 10th time in the last 12 games.
