
NBA Wednesday Aftermath
Zach Randolph inspired the Los Angeles Clippers to a thrilling 93-91 victory over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday.
After Rajon Rondo's free throw gave the Celtics a one point lead with 33 seconds left, Randolph received the ball underneath the basket and battled a number of defenders to score the lay up.
Paul Pierce's jumper from the free-throw line on the ensuing possession missed and the Clippers came down with the rebound.
Randolph, who finished with 30 points, made the second of a pair free throws with five seconds left and the Celtics failed to get a final shot off as time expired.
The Celtics have relinquished top spot in the East to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have won five straight.
At AT&T Center, Tony Parker poured in 39 points as the San Antonio Spurs won their second straight without Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili a 99-84 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Matt Bonner had 15 points and nine rebounds for San Antonio, who have won three straight games overall.
At Madison Square Garden, Hedo Turkoglu scored 33 points and Dwight Howard added 24 and 21 rebounds as the Orlando Magic executed down the stretch to hold off the defiant New York Knicks 114-109.
Rashard Lewis and Courtney Lee added 15 points apiece for the Magic.
In Denver, the Nuggets ended their three game losing streak with a 110-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, while in Washington, Andre Iguodala scored 22 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 106-98 victory over the Washington Wizards.
Andre Miller scored 17 points and Louis Williams added 16 off the bench for the 76ers, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
At New Orleans Arena, David West scored 30 points and came up with a huge offensive rebound in the closing seconds to lead the New Orleans Hornets to a 90-87 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Chris Paul added 20 points and 13 assists for the Hornets, who have won two straight games, while Richard Hamilton scored 24 points off the bench for Detroit, who have lost eight straight games.
Elsewhere, Devin Harris scored 42 points to lead the New Jersey Nets to a 111-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls, while Jarrett Jack led the way with 19 points as the Indiana Pacers won for the third time in four games since losing leading scorer Danny Granger with a 104-99 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies.
In Carlos Boozer's second game back since missing three months with a knee injury, the Utah Jazz continued to roll through the month of February, taking control late in the fourth quarter en route to a 120-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Finally, Gerald Wallace scored 27 points off 10-of-17 from the field and Boris Diaw added 21 points as the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Sacramento Kings 98-91, while Josh Howard scored 27 points as the Milwaukee Bucks posted a 116-96 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
