Blue Jackets seal overtime win

RJ Umberger scored his second goal of the game in overtime to give the Columbus Blue Jackets a 5-4 win over the Washington Capitals.

Raffi Torres had scored twice in the third period to send the game in to overtime where Umberger sealed the contest with a powerplay goal after one minute 45 seconds.

Marian Gaborik scored the only goal of the game in the second period as the New York Rangers beat the Boston Bruins 1-0.

The Carolina Hurricanes slumped to their ninth consecutive defeat after they were thrashed 5-1 by the San Jose Sharks, while the Vancouver Canucks won 3-0 at home to the Colorado Avalanche.
