Selanne scores 600th as Ducks win

Teemu Selanne scored his 600th NHL goal to help the Anaheim Ducks to a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Selanne became the 18th player in the history of the league to achieve the feat when he netted early in the second period.

Matt Beleskey, Jason Blake, Troy Bodie and Ryan Getzlaf were also on target for the winners.

Atlanta stay a point behind eighth-placed Boston in the Eastern Conference after a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Ondrej Pavelec made 44 saves for the Thrashers, who have now won four games on the spin.

The Bruins were 2-1 winners over the New York Rangers thanks to goals from Miroslav Satan and Dennis Wideman, while the Florida Panthers ran out 5-2 winners over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The San Jose Sharks' miserable run continued as they lost their fifth straight game with a 5-1 hammering at the Edmonton Oilers.

Dustin Penner and Shawn Horcoff each had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, who have now won two in a row.

Adrian Aucoin scored the crucial goal in the shootout as the Phoenix Coyotes equalled their franchise record of nine straight wins with a 3-2 outcome against the Dallas Stars.

The result moves the Coyotes level with the Chicago Blackhawks at the summit of the Western Conference on 97 points.

Chuck Kobasew grabbed a brace as the Minnesota Wild beat the Calgary Flames 4-3, while Jochen Hecht also struck twice as the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3.

Patric Hornqvist and Dustin Boyd (two) were on target as the Nashville Predators ran out 3-2 winners over the St Louis Blues.
